Terraria Calamity Mod: Easy Tips for Defeating Skeletron Prime

Congratulations on entering hardmode in Calamity.

I think by now you might be struggling with Skeletron Prime.

Many expert Revengence hardmode players get frustrated by Skeletron Prime. I was frustrated too and looked for strategies, but they were hard to understand...

After changing items and trying various approaches, I finally succeeded in defeating Skeletron Prime. I think it took about 20 attempts.

It was a time of perseverance.

But until I beat this boss, no matter how many times I tried, the path to victory wasn't clear...

For those of you in this situation, I'll explain through photos in a way that's very simple to understand.

I won't make it a long explanation.

For phase 1, just fly up into the sky and move as if drawing the number 8.

Ascend slowly while moving to the right, then dash to the left and descend toward the left, then change direction to descend toward the right.

If Skeletron Prime gets too close, run quickly and fly farther away.

Phase 2 is really easy...

From this point, you can avoid getting hit even once. Skeletron Prime makes a sound and fires small skulls.

When you start to see the small skulls being fired at their specific speed, begin running and ascending.

Then press the Dash button to quickly move away.

When you start to descend, use your wings to fall at the slowest possible speed while continuously pressing the dash button.

Keep doing this until you touch the ground.

That's all! Using this method, you won't get hit at all. If you do get hit, it's because your accessory movement speed is too slow.

It's not very different from phase 2.

The method is exactly the same.

However, Skeletron Prime fires lasers. You still ascend and use Dashing to distance yourself from Skeletron, and slowly descend as before.

But when lasers are coming and you can predict the angle at which they'll hit you, briefly descend quickly at that moment.

Again, it's possible to avoid getting hit even once.

This is the final phase 4. Skeletron Prime fires multiple missiles rapidly. When Skeletron Prime launches missiles, you need to descend quickly.

And descend in a zigzag pattern, like drawing a figure 8. This won't be easy. However, if you conserved your strength during phases 2-3, you can beat it without problems. The key here: Just before missiles are fired, attempt a quick descent and right before the missiles hit you, Dash to the opposite side of the missiles.

You probably have the Rod of Discord. (After hardmode begins, build a house for the Wizard in the underground Hallow, invite him, and he'll sell it)

If you use that to Dash occasionally, you can avoid attacks with almost 100% certainty. The Counter Scarf is also an essential item. It prevents health loss when you occasionally Dash incorrectly.

Additional Tip.

Q: What do I do when Skeletron's head spins and approaches quickly? If you follow what I've explained for phases 2 and 3, you won't get hit by it. But if that method doesn't work for you... set the King Slime as your mount.

When Skeletron Prime spins its head and approaches, jump over it and mount the King Slime, and your health won't decrease.

However, since you can still get hit by lasers, I recommend using this only in emergency situations.
