The recent 1.3 update brought many changes.
Among them, the most surprising change is the hideout system.

In contrast to the previous system where you could assault hideouts with your troops, the main character now has to sneak in solo and clear out the bandits.

Although it's possible to eliminate hideouts without this tedious infiltration procedure, the drawback is that your troops and main character won't gain any skill experience.

Since it's difficult to train your low-grade soldiers in the early stages, I trained my inexperienced troops through hideout infiltrations by choosing low-tier soldiers when entering the hideouts.

However, waiting for nighttime when hideout infiltration is relatively easier every time was tedious and became a time-wasting element in the game, so I often challenged hideouts during the day as well. As a result, I was able to discover a method to clear hideouts quickly and safely.

As shown, in daylight you're spotted the moment you make eye contact with hideout bandits. Unlike at night, the difficulty gap is enormous.

When clearing one hideout takes too much time, it inevitably becomes more and more boring

Because stealth kills with the dagger (the standard sax you're given) are extremely tedious in daylight, I made the bold decision to ditch the default dagger and opted for a Tier 2 gladius and crossbow.

Although you can use superior weapons based on your affluence and level, without cheats you'll be severely limited financially and skill-wise in the early game, so I needed to select the most cost-effective gear from my available options.

When your crossbow attack goes wide or doesn't one-shot the enemy, you're given enough time for about one reload.

But if the situation indicates you've been detected by two enemies, or it's likely your second shot won't be lethal, rapidly engage them in melee with the gladius, which offers moderate length and swift attack speed.

Only after clearing out all nearby enemies will you be able to call your allies to this spot.

This way, I quickly cleared hideouts and trained my low-tier troops. Each hideout took about 4 minutes to clear.

Hideout infiltration videos have been included at the top of the page (forest and desert scenarios).
