Dark and Darker – Cuttlefish spawn location, Mermaid corpse location
1.Cuttlefish spawn location
When I went there, sea urchins spawned 100% of the time, but there seems to be a chance that not only cuttlefish but also mermaids or other monsters can spawn.
I walked around several other areas as well, but I couldn’t find any Cuttlefish there. Fortunately, the quest only requires a small number of kills, so I was able to complete it in about 2–3 attempts. However, as of March 5, the item required to submit the quest was around 3,000 gold, which might be a bit expensive.
1. Twin Chamber
I was able to find a Cuttlefish in the central area of this location. Since there are no obstacles nearby, it’s an area where the Cuttlefish can easily escape. Use weapons with long reach and strong damage, such as a halberd, bardiche, or spear. If it’s difficult to catch up with the Cuttlefish, try intentionally moving far away from it and then approaching again. In that case, the Cuttlefish will not run away.
2.Ocean Volcano
It wasn’t difficult to catch the Cuttlefish here, because it ran away and ended up hitting a wall, which prevented it from moving forward.
There are many Pinchclaw Crabs in this area, so it’s also a good place to complete related quests or farm materials. However, the competition can be quite intense for the same reason.
2.Flipped ship
This is one of the main locations where Tidewalker Shaman and Tidewalker Clubfighter spawn. If you open the door directly beneath the ship here, there will be a sea urchin and one random monster spawned inside the room with a 100% chance. The monster can be either a mermaid or a Cuttlefish.
I don’t recommend this location specifically for hunting Cuttlefish. The competition is high, and they may not spawn at all. I might be mistaken about the location or remembering it incorrectly, but a player who was with me also said they saw one here.
2. Mermaid corpse location
Like a mimic, when you interact with the Mermaid corpse, there is a chance that it will come back to life and attack you. This quest requires you to kill the moving Mermaid corpse. It was a rather annoying and frustrating quest.
Mermaid corpse before interaction, and the awakened Mermaid corpse after interaction. The chance of them waking up is estimated to be around 30–50%.
