Dark and Darker The blue Maelstrom : Baby Turtle & Deliveryman’s Place (Arcane Essence Farming Guide) +hermit crab

For busy adventurers, I’ll explain this as simply as possible. First, take a look at the map

  • Please note that you should farm in Normal mode or High Roller mode.

- In PvE mode, Essence rarely drops.

- For green-grade Essence, use Normal mode.
- For blue or purple-grade Essence, use High Roller mode.

- However, keep in mind that green-grade Essence can also drop in High Roller mode.

- This spot can be fairly competitive, so use a torch to kill the Baby Turtles quickly.

  • From my experience, torch attacks were the easiest way to hit the Baby Turtles.


1.Bladehand's Refuge.

Go to the 11 o’clock direction on the minimap above, where the green circle is marked.

When you arrive there, you’ll see one Pirate Archer sitting down.
The spot right in front of the place where that Pirate Archer is sitting is the Baby Turtle spawn location.

Around five Baby Turtles usually spawn there.

2.Skull Island

Ignore the zombies near the shore as much as possible and head to the location shown in the first image.

Once you get there, you should be able to find the Baby Turtles easily.

There are also around 5–6 Baby Turtles in this spot.

If there are no other players nearby, check the barnacle cluster area along the shore of this island.

You can stop by and mine some gems there.

For removing barnacles, longswords or high-impact polearms usually work well.


Blue Essence drops the most often, followed by purple, then green.

From my experience, after hunting around 10 Baby Turtles, I got roughly:

6 blue Essences
2 purple Essences
2 green Essences

Occasionally, you may also get a legendary-grade orange Essence




3.Deliveryman

If you are not in a good position to extract quickly, visiting the Deliveryman in this area can also be a decent option.

However, keep in mind that this is one of the highly contested spots

This location is on Elephant Island, which is located to the right of the whirlpool.

There is only one entrance to this area.

You need to pass underwater and head to the spot marked with the red circle on the minimap.

You can use this path to reach the top of the island.

At the summit, you’ll find the Deliveryman standing there.
