Here's a guide for the "Villagers in Need" quest on Combat AI Difficulty Challenging and Realistic difficulty settings. It's best to start this quest at night.

Right at the start, move to the right edge of the field.
This way, you won't be detected by the most alert soldier.

When you first start, the most alert enemy soldier will easily spot you and will come into the bushes where you're hiding. 

Then, the moment you cross the field and go over the alley, two soldiers will spot you and follow, forcing you to go back into the field. But there's no need to do that.

Don't waste time dealing with them - just move to the far right as shown in the picture and advance forward.

Right after exiting the field, immediately move to the stone wall on the left. Make sure to crouch and check the guards' white detection meters. 

If their white bar (which indicates their alertness level) rises above the halfway point, you need to stop and wait for a moment.

Be careful of the guard's line of sight in the red circle. If he's not looking in your direction, you can keep moving forward without stopping in the middle.

The next step is to advance your main character and move into the grass on the right side. Be careful of the guard marked with the red circle. 

You should only move when his line of sight is focused in a direction other than the grass area.

Once you climb over this wall, you'll see a ladder. Here, you need to pause briefly in the middle to avoid the guards' surveillance.

Do you see that target over there? Throw a stone behind that target.
This will make the guard protecting the building entrance move. 

When the guard moves, throw another stone inside the building. That's because there's one more guard inside the building. 

To figure out his position and where he's looking,
you need to throw a stone inside the building.

Before the guard who walked toward the target returns to his original position, you should move to this barrel and hide in front of it. 

Remember how I told you to throw a stone inside the building earlier? That's because there's also a guard inside the building.

When his alertness is at zero, slowly follow behind him.
Then hide in the dark space on the right until he changes his position again.

From here, you're almost done. Go up to the second floor of the building, and the detained NPC you need to meet will be waiting there.

Finish the conversation with him. He won't follow you. If you kill the guard on the second-floor outdoor balcony and safely escape through there, the quest will be completed successfully.

If you attack him from behind with a dagger, the assassination effect will kill the guard in one strike with 100% certainty. Don't face him directly - attack from behind.

This is the direction to the exit. Press the F key to exit here and the quest will be completed.
